Nannie Berry Elementary School

One of the highlights in recording
Christmas Without You was the trip to
Nannie Berry Elementary School in Hendersonville, Tennessee. When we
decided to move forward with this project one of the things we wanted to
include was children, real kids in all their glory, singing from their
hearts. Ron went to school at Nannie Berry, so that's the school we
decided to contact. Like most things with this album, it all came
together in less than a week and lots of fun was had in the process.
The Ban-Joey Bluegrass Band, as we call them, provided the
instrumentation for this Bluegrass flavored rendition of Jingle Bells.
This album isn't just about Little Daniel, it's about all of
those children that aren't living to see their first Christmas. God
bless each and every one of them!

Ron and Laura
returned to Nannie Berry on December 15th to thank the
children for their participation. We'd agreed to include each child's
name in the album credits but we also gave each of them a small gift.
There were several people that bought CDs and then donated them back to us
so that we could give them to the children whose families couldn't afford to
buy a copy, these were also given out on this day.
We told them that radio station WKDW in
Staunton, Virginia had contacted us to do an interview about the making of
Christmas Without You, the inclusion of the Nannie Berry choir, and
our cause; to raise awareness about SIDS and raise money for research. WKDW had already been giving airplay to Jingle Bell Rock and
had chosen our album to be one of their 12 CDs of Christmas to be featured
on their morning radio program.
On December 16th, 2003,
Christmas Without You by Ron Fairchild and
Friends was the Christmas album of the day.
